PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) Course

Curious about teaching scuba diving? The PADI Assistant Instructor course (AI) is the first part of the full PADI Instructor Course (IDC). The second part of the PADI Instructor Course (IDC) is the PADI Open Water SCUBA Instructor Course (OWSI). Taking both the Assistant Instructor course and Open Water Scuba Instructor course (plus the PADI Instructor Exam) leads to certification as a PADI Instructor. However if you don't have time for the whole Instructor course, or if you are just curious about teaching scuba but not ready to commit to the complete IDC, you can take just the PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) Course in less than one week here .

As a PADI Assistant Instructor you will start learning the PADI System of diver education. It's a great way to gain experience and build upon your abilities to organize and supervise scuba diving activities. During the Assistant Instructor course you'll learn through self-study, quizzes, lectures and presentations. In the classroom your PADI Course Director will work with you to improve your teaching skills, and in the water you'll work together to improve your general diving skills in-water rescue skills.

Prerequisites and Course Content:

To enter the PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) course you need to have Divemaster certification (PADI or a different diving agency), CPR & First Aid training taken within the last 24 months, and  medical clearance to dive signed by a doctor within the last 12 months. You'll need to be at least 18 years old and have 60 or more dives and have been a certified diver for at least 6 months to begin the course.

The PADI Assistant Instructor course takes 5 days and taken during the first 5 days of the IDC or if taken outside IDC Dates. Included;

Emergency First Response Instructor (EFRI)

PADI Emergency First Response Instructor course (EFRI) is required for all Instructor candidates taking the PADI Instructor Course (IDC). Because EFRI isn not a diving specific first aid course divers of any level and non-divers can join to become Emergency First Response Instructors.

 

During the Emergency First Response Instructor course, you will build on your demonstrational skills as an Emergency Responder and focus on developing your instructional abilities to teach these skills to others. The EFR Instructor course provides you with the additional training necessary to teach the Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First Aid) and Care for Children courses.

 

You'll learn how to motivate students, evaluate student knowledge, present course content effectively, become proficient in developing students hands-on skills practice sessions and how to present an effective scenario-based learning experience. You will learn how to teach people to teach people to learn how to save the life of a loved one.

Prerequisites and Course Content:

To enter the Emergency First Response Instructor course, you must be 18 years old and have completed EFR training in the past 24 months. If you haven't taken the EFR course yet, or if it's more than 2 years, you can take the EFR here immediately before the EFR Instructor course.

PADI Emergency First Response Instructor course (EFRI) takes 2 days (combined with IDC) including;

  • PADI Emergency First Response Instructor course (EFRI)
  • Coffee tea & drinking water

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor Course (OWSI)

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor course (OWSI) is the second part of the PADI Instructor Development Course (OWSI). If you are already a PADI Assistant Instructor (AI), or if you are already a scuba diving Instructor from a different dive agency, you can take just the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor course (OWSI) in 15 days here, plus 3 days for the PADI Exam (IE), to become a PADI Instructor and start teaching the PADI system of scuba diving education.

 

As a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) you will be able to teach all PADI courses from Discover Scuba & PADI Open Water course all the way through to the PADI Divemaster course.


Prerequisites and Course Content:
To enter the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor course you need to have PADI Assistant Instructor certification (or already be an Instructor with a different dive agency), be certified as an Emergency First Response Instructor and have medical clearance to dive signed by a doctor within the last 12 months. You'll need to be at least 18 years old, have 100 or more dives and have been a certified diver for at least 6 months to begin the course. If you aren't an Emergency First Response Instructor yet you can take this during the OWSI.

 

The PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor course (OWSI) takes 15 days and  including;

 

  • All class, pool & ocean sessions
  • Accommodation (depend on an option you selected)
  • Free rental for all necessary equipment
  • Free Nitrox Specialty Instructor course
  • Coffee, drinking water
  • Free Wi-Fi in our dive centre
  • Lunch

Excluded;

  • Instructor Exam (IE) fee
